I know this is one sided but it reminded me of the Confederation Cup game Brazil played in 1997 pre-world cup 1998. France have finally lost to Italy in penalties, this is not the negative Italian team we used to see that won tonight in Berlin. What a brilliant time to show your potential, and giving the best of ability. Yes I am talking about France v Spain second round game.
The Spaniards scored first with a penalty given against Thurham, David scored it with accuracy and tenacity.But then the second half arrived Spain continued continued to play excellent passing football, it was as if France were not around. But constant run from Ribero pushed France to score the first goal. This allowed the French to attack more and for Viera to tell the racist Spain manager Aragonés to shut it and scored with a header from a free kick.
Then as the final minute was to arrive.....wait for it the legend that is Zidane drag the ball back and scored mesmerizing goal, with this Zizu turned my miserable day into an exciting night. So without further ado I say one -nil to Anti-racist.Yesterday I witnessed Ghana getting beaten by Italy, Today I blame the referee Graham Poll (the Mr Me look at me) for the way Togo lost to South Korea, first he gives yellow card for no tackle and then at a decisive time when he should be giving a yellow card he gave red card and this affected the balance and the shape of Togolese team. What an asshole that Graham Poll is.
Togo first scored a fine goal and then Togolese captain got sent of and this lead South Korea to score a fine free kick and then at the top of the hour South Korea scored another. Don't misunderstand me I love South Korea, but I hate when there is injustice on th referee side.
What is wrong with African teams, Ghana is more than capable of beating Italy as the first 10 minute showed. But instead of using their head they turn into showmanship, ITALY did not even have to put any effort into to the game to win it, they just using their head and scored the two goals needed and then shut the defense up.
in my view and my generation there are three players that call legends, they are Van Basten (Dutch), Maradona (Argentinian) and Zindene Zidane (French).
So in my view watching that program, as an avid soccer fan, it pains me to look the premature ending of that legend- Van Basten.
